Little Update

Thank you all for your comments on my last post, Love you all!! I've decided it's ran it's course and doesn't need to be permanent.

Little update on our crazy 2009 summer...

Ryan and I took a trip to Maui in April. (no kids:) Ryan's parents and two of his
aunt's went. Every minute was bliss!!! I so love his parents and adore is Aunts. It was an absolute wonderful trip. Ryan and I swam with sea turtles and watched a mother humpback whale play with her baby, ate wonderful sushi, read 2 1/2 of the Twilight books and rented a scooter, (by myself) and drove up the west coast of Maui. The perfect vacation.

June....We celebrated Megan's B-day and went to Lake Powell!! Love that Lake!

July....Celebrate the 4th-my favorite holiday. We also had 2 of my brother's boys come to stay with us for ten days, celebrated Brady and Maycee's B-day, my brother came home from his mission, enjoyed a family reunion, camping above Eden, swam a couple times at my Aunts pool, worked in our yard (dirt) and Brady was Baptized last Saturday. Saturday was also Ryan's 35th B-day.

Our summer has been busy, but fun. August has come too fast. My brother is getting married in 3 weeks and I'm doing all the photography for it. Excited and nervous.
Brady started football and Megan is loving her art class. The summer has flown by, but we have lots of good memories. We finally got grass yesterday, YAH!!! And before we know it, school will be starting. Hope you all have had a wonderful summer.

Girls weekend in Vegas!!

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! (except STD's) LOL Sorry, I had to put that. The trip was so fun. As you can guess, I'm always behind the camera, so there are no pictures of me. That's fine with me. But, I promise I was there. LOL

Every story should end with....and then the cops came!!

So living in our new neighborhood, and with a lot of empty houses (ghost town like), the roads were not plowed quickly. No problem, good news for Ryan, he got the 4-wheelers out and our neighbors and really good friends got their sleds out. We added a few skiing ropes to the mix and we had a party. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST! We were going through the neighborhood at what were probably dangerous speeds on a sled and doing a lot of screaming. I had forgotten that I was a mother of 3 and over 30. Well, we lost track of time. After a lot of laughing and a few wipe-outs, a police car drove up with it's lights flashing. Oooppps....it was after 11:00 at night. He was pretty nice and I think he was surprised at our age. These 4 adults being noisy out on the streets at 11:00. We had a hard time not to giggle, but when he left, (giving us just a warning), the giggles came out. We couldn't believe what had happened. Could we really have gotten the cops called on us? HA! Well, we had an absolute blast and have a great story that ends with..."and then the cops came".

Be Prepared....this doesn't happen very often.

For Halloween, I convinced Ryan to be in a Hospital gown with a big belly. You might think he is a pregnant woman, but nope. That is when the baby comes out from the gown and so for Halloween, he was a "New Mom". I hope you get as big of a laugh as his co-workers did as he gave birth on the conference table during a meeting. LOVE IT! That's my hubby!!!!!!

Here is Indian Jones, Nancy Drew, "Super Dog", and the cutest little lion I've ever seen.

My Pumpkins Carving Pumpkins...

Check out them pumpkins...Maycee is very attached to her punkin. But let's be serious, the adults have to do most of the work. A broken knife and sore scratched-up hands later and you have happy kids. (it was my favorite knife too.) It's worth it!! Any good recipes for pumpkin seeds?

Enjoying the dirt....while it lasts

Brady has planned a pond in the back yard and decided to start digging and getting it filled. Of course Maycee follows him around, even wearing his shoes. She still asks, about every other day, to go home. Oh, that pulls on my heart strings. Her and Megan are doing great sharing a room...so much better than I though it would be. Another thing that won't last too much longer is the trampoline by the deck. Brady, AKA "Dare Devil", jumps off and lands on his stomach. I lose my breathe every time. What's funny is I remember doing that as a kid off the roof of my house:)

2 days to go......

Two days to go, and I'm starting to loose sleep.
But I'll cherish the friends, I'll forever keep.
I love you all and you know who you are.
The bright side of this, were not going far.
I'll always be grateful for this home HE gave to us.
And we'll move on with faith and all of our trust.
After all a house is not just a house, it's a HOME.
Filled with the Spirit and safety from the storm.
Laugh you might, but I'm so grateful for blogging,
So if you'll excuse me now, while I start sobbing.

In the midst of all the packing...

I have to show of this creation my sister-in-law and I did. I'm printing it as a 16x20 poster and mounting it on board for her. I can't wait for the final product.

The packing is pretty overwhelming... I feel like I have to get everything organized and then pack, but I'm slowly realizing that time isn't on my side, but when we move in I can organize and get rid of things then. Any words of wisdom when it comes to packing up your life for a move?

Another incredible Lake Powell Trip and several Birthdays!

Wow! What a summer it's been. I don't think I've ever been "going this fast." It's been fun, but overwhelming. You know, when it rains-it pours. Well, I have to admit, I'm ready for things to calm down. Anyway, Lake Powell was awesome. Another perfect trip. We celebrated Maycee's Birthday there.
Her favorite present was the little camera! I love that!

July 26th she turned 2!!! I can't believe I have had her in my life for two years-it's flown by. She is so special to me. Every moment is a joy to be around her sweet personality.

Brady had his Birthday on the 17th of July while we were at Zermatt. He's now 7!!! That was so exciting for him. He also go his remote control boat he's been waiting for. He said to me that this was he's best birthday ever and he felt a little spoiled. Ha!

Then on August 1st, Ryan turned 34. Happy Birthday sweetheart!

A few more pict's of Lake Powell. There's no place on earth like Lake Powell. Brady had so much fun doing his boy things-fishing and catching Lizards and frogs. Megan's favorite part is tube riding and knee boarding. She's a pro at the knee board. She would be content being dragged behind the boat all day. Maycee was a little jewel. She loved the water and was so so good. She has such a content little personality and she loves making people laugh.

Love those "work" trips!!

We are in Midway, Utah at the Zermatt Resort. So Awesome!! It's the Blackberry convention and Ryan is working while the kids and I play. We are here all week and basically are spending the days at the pool. I love it. I can sit by the pool and play on my computer. Wow! This summer has been crazy to say the least. This is my first post in over a month. We are even leaving this Sunday to Lake Powell again. Soooo excited! Tomorrow (thursday) is also Brady's Birthday. He thinks it's pretty cool to celebrate his birthday at a hotel. We also brought his best friend and cousin, Taylor, to spend the week with us. Megan is making lots of new friends at the pool and loves it. Last night I went with Ryan to the conference center of the resort and saw T minus 5, the vocal band. They were Awesome. http://www.tminus5.c0m/

There is not a day that goes by that Maycee doesn't put someone elses shoes on. Too Cute!

The greatest place on earth... with the greatest people on earth!

This was the perfect vacation. It was fantastic. This was the first year going to Lake Powell with the Kimber Family . The name of our house boat is "Totally Hooked" and I can confidently say we all are. It was full of laughter, long talks, playing games, seeing who dared to go down the slide, catching frogs, lizards, and tadpoles (we brought 40 little frogs home), wave runner and boating excursions, hiking, mud fights, music, dancing, incredible food, Wii competitions and lots of fishing. I love Lake Powell and I loved being there with my family. I have more love for them and I feel like I know and love my nieces and nephews even more.

We also celebrated Megan's 10th Birthday in Lake Powell. It was so exciting for her. One of her presents was a wrapped box with a picture of her bike that was waiting at home. She also pooled her birthday money and bought a guinea pig. Yes, a guinea pig. I have to say it is so cute and cuddly. She loves it. Happy Birthday Sweetheart. I love you!!!

Mini Photo Shoot Schedule

Here is the schedule for the photo-shoot...

Thursday June 5th:
-------------
-------------
-------------

Saturday June 7th
-------------
5:30-6:30
-------------

Tuesday June 10th
-------------
-------------
-------------

Just a couple of things to remember...
* Shoot will be canceled if bad weather.
* Try and avoid wearing black tops and let me know if you have questions about clothing.
* Plan on being at shoot at the start time. Once the kids get comfortable with me, the shoot should last 30 min. I've scheduled 1 hour just in case.
* You are welcome to bring different outfits to change.
* Make sure the kids have shoes on.
* I will not have phone or e-mail access from May 25th to June 1st.
* I'll give you my address over the phone.
* If none of the times work, I'll be doing another mini-shoot in a couple weeks.

Oh, and one more thing...sometimes these little cuties are just not in the mood to have their picture taken. If I don't feel like they are at their best and I'm not getting enough good shots, I hope you'll be patient with me and reschedule. I want the pictures to be wonderful, not just o.k.
AND, if you're not happy with the final result, I will be more than happy to do it over.

Call to save a spot, they will fill up quickly!

Mini-Photo Shoot Comming Soon!!

I will be doing a mini photo-shoot in my front yard the first week of June. What this is (mini shoot) is an affordable way to get a couple great shots of your kids. This will be for kids only. $20 per child and each session will be about 30 min. Each addition child (in family) will be $10. (that will be included in the 30 min.)
You will get 5-10 full-resolution, fully edited digital photographs (per child) on an archival CD.

I will have my backdrops set up as an option and pictures will also be taken in the rocks and bushes in front. Here are a couple of examples...

I'll be gone May 25th-June 1st, but I'll post exact dates and time so you can sign up before I go if possible. Dates and times to come....
Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

Look what I got for Mother's Day!!!!!

JUST KIDDING!! I meant to say, look what Ryan got for Mother's Day. HA, HA, HA!!

Well, he bought it a couple of weeks ago, but he finally got it Mother's Day weekend. I'm so happy for him. He went to Logan with his Dad and brother on their bikes to see his Grandma and said it was so fun. I took a test drive and I have to admit, it is really exciting. The kids can't wait to get their helmets so they can have a ride with Dad. You deserve this Ryan. You are such a wonderful Father and Husband. ALWAYS be careful!
Mother's Day was great! Ryan and the kids got me a pottery barn bath robe. I've never felt anything so soft. We also went to Grantsville to be with my family and talk to my brother Kevin whom was calling from his Mission. I was an emotional wreck. Something about hearing his voice just triggered a lot of emotion. We also talked about Grandma being gone and how special she is to us. (Kevin was really close to her, too.) Kevin is such a great missionary and an inspiration to me. Love ya, little bro.

Happy Mother's Day to all you blogging buddies. And a big Happy Mother's Day to the greatest Mother in the world. I couldn't ask for a more wonderful Mother. Thank you for you example of Living the Gospel. Thank you for always being there for me. I love you Mom!!

Spring has Sprung!!

I think spring is finally here. It's been a dramatic spring with the ups and downs of the temperature, but that's spring in Utah. One of my favorite parts of spring is the transformation and 'coming to life' of my front yard. When we built our home and viewed the finish result, we realized how plain and standard the front view of the house was. So in my planning of the landscaping, I designed to enhance, (hide) the plainness of our new home. I have so enjoyed each spring as the trees and bushes come in bigger and bolder. The kids love playing throughout the rocks and bushes and with it facing east, we have the shade in front which draws us there most evenings. The landscape is surprisingly very, very little maintenance. There's weed-cover under the soil pep/bark so I pick only a handful of weeds every year. Also, because of the roots maturity, I don't need to water anything. I love my front landscape, I just wish I could say the same about my grass. Other than that, it has turned into the picture I had in my head 7 years ago. I just wanted to share a little of what I take pride in. I'm so grateful for spring and the opportunity for outdoor photo shoots.!!

Which brings me to the next perk of my front yard. The lighting has proved to be perfect for photos. The rocks and bushes also add so much color. Information and schedule coming soon for a mini photo shoot (for kids) in my front yard. It's going to be fun, affordable, and convenient.

Fourth Grade Fun

Doing a project on a county in Utah is pretty standard in the 4th Grade. Megan and I had a lot of fun doing her project together. She was able to pick Tooele County, the place where I grew up, so it had deeper meaning for the both of us. She did her oral report today and did a fabulous job. Her float turned out so great as well. GOOD JOB MEG!!!! (kinda glad it's behind us though, ha.)

OUR DISNEY TRIP AT A GLANCE
