In the midst of all the packing...

I have to show of this creation my sister-in-law and I did. I'm printing it as a 16x20 poster and mounting it on board for her. I can't wait for the final product.

The packing is pretty overwhelming... I feel like I have to get everything organized and then pack, but I'm slowly realizing that time isn't on my side, but when we move in I can organize and get rid of things then. Any words of wisdom when it comes to packing up your life for a move?

Packing and moving is SO overwhelming!!! I found these tips a few years back and they have been very helpful to me in our many moves. Maybe you can find some useful info, as well...http://www.flylady.net/pages/Flying_MovingTips.asp
PLEASE let me know how I can help...

Moving is not one of my favorite things, even though I seem to be doing it way to often. Good luck on packing, and I understand about getting emotional, I cried like a baby when I had to move out here:) Tyler Williams is my cousin, how funny!

I love the picture, what a beautiful family & a great moment!
Okay, here's my moving tip:
Have your boxes unloaded to the garage and post signs around the garage for each area in the house (i.e. "Kitchen", "Master Bathroom", "Kids room". . .) Label the boxes that way when you pack them & have them unloaded in the garage by their sign.
Then you won't have boxes everywhere in the house & you can bring them into the house as your ready for them.
Also, instead of trying to decide what you should get rid of--pull out what you can't live with out and turn your head as you toss the rest!
Last, keep your hanging clothes on the hangers. Tie about 10-15 hangers together at the neck, put a garbage sack over them (bag it like the drycleaners) and then when you hang it up in your new closet just rip off the bag. this has saved us a ton of time.
We've moved so many times I think I should write a book, oh wait--I just did! Sorry about that, hope some of it makes sense and helps.
Good luck to you, we're looking forward to a BBQ on your massive porch. . .in the fall when life has calmed down :)
